The First Step Towards Hope Starts With A Proxy

The ministry of justice gave restrict orders to the notary agents across the country not to accept the citizens’ proxies to  ElBaradei and Amr Moussa in order to run for presidency or to change the constitution unless after obtaining an official written clearance from the Ministry of Justice's main headquarters in order to issue this authorization !!!!!!!!!!!

I repeat this is an official order. I did not believe that the calls from Facebook activists would be real and people would go and issue this proxy  to ElBaradei mainly then to Moussa if it were not for this order. People actually went to the notary agents and wanted to issue this authorization and this scared the shit  out of the regime. Opposition and independent newspapers are reporting that people across the country , normal citizens went to the notary offices to issue this authorization and the employees themselves freaked out !!

Currently the ministry of foreign affairs in cooperation with the ministry of justice are giving orders to all our embassies around the globe not to accept these proxies there as you can issue a legal proxy there and according to news reports someone in Qatar went to our embassy in order to issue proxy to ElBaradei. The regime is afraid that the Egyptians abroad will stand behind ElBaradei.

It seems that our regime is afraid that we would repeat the 1919 revolution in peaceful democratic way this time !!

The public campaign of ElBaradei did not lose hope thought , they will use the popular proxies which I do not know how legal and validity it is in these particular circumstances. The campaign lately has claimed that Dr. Mona Makran Abid, Hassab Allah El-Kafrawy , Judge Hisham el-Bastawisy and consoler  Mahmoud el-Khodeiry have joined the campaign ; if this  is true , then it will be great.

You may consider it as a small step that was cracked by the regime and I consider it a huge one because it shows that our people are not that sleepy or passive as you may think or believe ; they seem that they want a chance , a hope so they can run behind it even if it were false hope. This is a very significant change despite that it seems that the regime has cracked for the time being.

  1. The ppl are not sleepy they are scared and many not the majority started to try and do something despite the fear. The only name I do not fully trust out of the list proposed is Ayman Nour,
The Egyptian Embassy in Washington D.C., issued about 5 proxies last week and that point was used by the Egyptian who attempted to do the same in Qatar but apparently the orders were issued already.
The non-noterized proxies are legal and I read that they will be confirmed by filling a claim to confirm the authenticity of the signatures, which seals the deal completely as far as their legality and validity are concerned. Also, the ministry of justice is violating the law by issuing such orders (notice how the orders were verbal only) and Im shocked by the news that the prosecutors office of Alexandria refused to receive reports from affected citizens real SHAME. In all cases, those denied the right to issue the proxy can file an admin law suite and will win it bec its a clear violation from the ministry of justice.

  2. This is really interesting. Could you explain what exactly a proxy is, though? I'm not familiar with them in terms of politics. Thanks!
