False Alarm Or Real War Drums

DEBKAfile claims that Egypt knows that Israel will launch a strike "actually war" against Iran through the Gulf and North Iraq "through Kurdish regions" . The website claims that the Israeli navy has been roaming the Gulf along with the American fifth fleet for some time now under the eye of KSA and sister Gulf states.
DEBKAfile claims that this news has been leaked in Cairo through Al-Shorouk News which the site says that it is being used by the Egyptian intelligence to leak some certain news like for instance the famous scoop about the Israeli raid on the Iranian convey in Sudan. For the record Al Shorouk said that the raid was American not Israeli.
I do not know for real if this is a false alarm or real war drums in the region. Despite I know that the West can't afford another huge war in the Middle East yet I can't deny that there are maniacs in Israel who do not care about the world. Real logic says that there is no country in the region except Israel will welcome this war but I just do not know ; in the last few days there were strange statements from Syria , from Iran and from Israel.
I just wish something ; war or peace our Egyptian national security and its regional policy should be revised for what it is really to our best interest , to our kids' best interest and more important to Egypt's best interest.

  2. My Dear Zeinobia, The war threatener is Iran. Israel would only attack Iran as a last preemptive resort. They can't wait until it's too late. I pray that they do not because it would inflame the region but what is the alternative? If Iran in fact attacks Israel with a nuke the Palastinians would also be destroyed. The enemy of the entire region is the current ruthless dictatorial theocratic leadership in Iran. You put down some Christians for their misguided end times beliefs but apparently you ignore the fact that the great AJAD awaits the 12th Imam.will you poor innocent idealists never learn. I believe the Egyptian Government has been acting in your countries best interests albeit that you and so many others can only concentrate on hating Jews. Ask the Iranian people ( not their despotic leaders) what they think. Apply cold logic I beg you.

A friend of Egypt and you forever

  3. @ Dick: If you are our friend then you will know that the only enemy is the one with nuclear weapons directed at our capital and the one who after how many years now still doesnt want to give back lands and settle the issue once and for all.
If Iran is a threat its mainly a threat to Israel, Israel remains the biggest threat to most Middle Eastern countries thanks to its crazy generals, ppl who think every body is out to get them so they end up taking their fear on the palestinians and the endless supply of the most modern weapons from the US run by 5 million Zionist Jews who somehow managed to get several US administrations to forgo what is really in the best interests of the American ppl and to blindly support Israel to the extent that the peace process is now dead. I pray those ruling in Egypt and the rest of the Middle East wake up and maintain friendly relations with Iran that is the only way to push the US to put a leach on its Israel. Also, the biggest loser from Israel bombing Iran is the US bec Iran can turn the GCC into hell for the US with all its allies and all its armies there as well as in Iraq, Afghanstan and Lebanon. So, We beg you Americans to apply some logic instead of just letting your foreign policy decisions get decided by another country bec that will sure bring an end to your country eventually. One last thing, most of us have issues with Zionists not Jews.

  4. To the second anon. You gave me a lot to think about. It is not clear that you are Egyptian but if you are I question that the Israelis have any warheads aimed at Cairo.Egypt is not the enemy even though many of its citizens hate Israel but I am not certain why they do.
We could go on forever arguing about who has the most right to be in the former Palestine territories but if we take the very long view the Jews were certainly there as a religion and people long before the Muslims came. The facts on the ground right now are that Israel exists and will continue to do so. The right of return is always a big issue in peace talks and of course its always a deal breaker because the Israelis are a democratic nation and if they were to agree to such a return they would be overwhelmed at the ballot box in a very short time. They are not stupid!

You say "if Iran is a threat its mainly a threat to Israel" I think the Saudis, the Iraqis and Jordanians are also wary of Iran and are against the idea of Iran having nukes. The Shia Sunnis split is also a problem.President Obama did in fact extend a hand to Iran and has given little support to the opposition parties in Iran who suffer greatly at the hands of their current rulers. I say rulers not leaders. The only reason for them to want nukes is to extend their power in the area.As for the "crazy generals" Israel is a small nation surrounded by enemies who do not recognize their right to exist. What would you do under the same circumstances? They are not taking their fear out on the Palestinians it is the crazies in Hamas and also Hezbollah who keep attacking the Israelis and it is the poor civilians who only want a decent life who pay the price. "from the U.S. run by 5 million Zionist Jews" is absurd. There was much sympathy for the Jews after WW2 and indeed some guilt on the part of Americans for failing to fully understand the indisputable horrors of the holocaust. There should have been some guilt in the Middle East as well. Iran was on the German side as were the Grand Mufti and many in Egypt. There were many in the United States who did not agree with President Truman's recognition of Israel but it was done and there have been struggles ever since. My argument today is that the poor Palestinians would be far better off if they opted for peace.Who stirs them up and provides the weapons? Iran and Syria. The Palestinians would get much development aid from the U.S. and Israel and there would be more freedom of movement Aid that BTW has never been made available from the surrounding Arab countries unless you count the $25,000 bonuses that Saddam would pay for suicide bombers. You speak of "crazy generals" but there are as many "crazies" on the other side fighting for something they will never get without destroying the whole area.

As to the biggest loser being the U.S. you seem not to realize just what an awful scenario would ensue for the entire world. If we tend to side with Israel it is because we know that the alternative is the annihilation of millions of humans of all races and creeds.

    Pride goeth before a fall!
